Hi, I am Chris Gagnon. This is a picture of me. I wanted a photo that made me look relatable, yet professional, two traits I exude.

Founded in 2011, Egg Collective is the creative home of designers Stephanie Beamer, Crystal Ellis and Hillary Petrie, who met as design students at Washington University in St. Louis and have been working together ever since. In this informative, meditative exploration of their work, the Brooklyn-based design group explains how they approach projects, their values around design and craft and even the definition of their name. “Sometimes people think Egg is a collective of individual ideas,” says Stephanie Beamer, “for us, it’s a product of our collective design consciousness.” While their work transcends any reductive definition of “women in design,” the approach of this all-female collective has a decidedly feminine slant. They focus not only on the details and craftsmanship of their heirloom-quality pieces but also on collaboration, support and the enduring quality of good design. “Everybody can remember a piece of furniture from their childhood,” they say. “That’s what we’re going for.” Learn all about this innovative collective, which is rooted in classic midcentury modern design values, in this informative short film by Design Within Reach.

"Sometimes you just let go a little bit and it goes better." The second film exploring Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr’s existence as they play their biggest show to date in their hometown, Detroit, before embarking on their first headlining national tour. It’s an intimate view into the lives of two regular guys coming to terms with their newfound stardom and the slow, yet steady growth of their fans.

"I wouldn't trust Chris alone in a room with my cat or my grandmother, but I haven't found an editor I trust more for choosing music and shaping a story.  Chris has a keen sense for editorial timing and understands the nuance involved in including moments that build towards an overall feeling of a piece that elevate it to the realm of art.  He is our first choice editor, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't hire him so that he has time in his schedule to work for us."

"If you can look beyond his kindness and good will towards others, you will find that Chris is a highly-focused, professional collaborator with great technical expertise and a solid work ethic matched only by his passion for creative expression and unique problem solving skills within the field of motion graphics/editing (and beyond)"

"Chris Gagnon is a remarkable and driven editor, dedicated to any project he is given. His intuitive sense of fluid work flow, the style of what is required and his whip-smart intellect make him
the best editor I have worked with to date. My dark and ambient art films need someone who is sensitive to all the elements of film- visual aesthetics, sound, overall narrative structure and pacing- which Chris
excels in every way. Additionally, his pastel 1980's outfits make me think of what a teenage tennis romance film by John Hughes would look like!"

Phil Swantek

MCCI, Senior  Producer

" I have worked with Chris for over 4 years and have found him to be an extremely talented writer, producer, director, videographer and editor.
He is extremely creative and a pleasure with which to work. Chris, is always professional and has the ability to listen to the director or client to understanding their needs and wishes. He handles himself with the utmost professionalism and works wonderfully with the client and with me as a producer and director.
He has a great ability to asses a scene and choose proper angles from which to film the scene. He is also very capable with lighting a scene and as an audio tech. Although he is always willing to take direction when needed, Chris works well on his own.
In the edit suite he is very talented and accomplished as well. He works extremely well on his own and has the ability to take a project from concept to completion.
I have no reservations about recommending him as highly qualified, producer, director, videographer and editor."
